Re: Lamont On Verge of UPSET WIN? « Result #1 on Aug 10, 2006, 11:21am »
Just keeping this thread up to date as I figure out how to attract traffic to this site. Lieberman lost to Lamont by a margin of 4 percent. Instead of respecting the voice of the voters, Lieberman is now mounting a fall campaign as a so called Independent Democrat...I think someone should SUE HIM for trying to use the term Democrat in defining himself now.
!9th District Needs to Back One Horse-John Hall « Result #2 on Aug 7, 2006, 4:21pm »
Time for Other Five Candidates To Resign, Back John Hall For Congress
Yes, I support John Hall for Congress, but calling for the other Democratic candidates in the 19th to toss in their chips and go about Supporting John Hall's race for Congress is nont just about every one supporting the candidate that I happen to think is best for the job, though since asked, I'll quickly explain why I feel this way.
1. James Martorano-put simply, does not have the horses necessary to give Sue Kelly a run for her money, fading fast, James would be far better off using his talents to support John Hall's campaign.
2. Darren Rigger-Politics to this man is a JOB, a paycheck. It's what he is, what he does which is fine, but he's far better suited for civil service than public office.
3. Ben Shuldiner-Nice guy, but nice guys are a dime a dozen...sorry, but Ben, you just don't have charisma.
4. Gary Suraci-come on, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN...you can now tell all your friends you ran for Congress, so give it a rest, the party is over.
5. Judith Aydelott-Last, but certainly not least. First and formost, this lady is a dyed in the wool Republican in Democrats clothing, and even worse, I believe her to be a true blue RIGHT WING Republican. Electing her to Washington DC, is like sending a carbon copy of Sue Kelly to Washington, DC. It's no accident that she and Sue Kelly are neighbors, and it would not even surprise me to find out this whole thing was/is some kind of a perverse scheme of sorts. She's the only one out of this group of five that is going to give John Hall a serious run for the money when it comes to who gets the nod to represent the Democrats in this fall's election.
So, why should these candidates resign, and stand UNITED behind John Hall. There are several reasons, and will numerically list them.
1. Democrats need to gain FIFTEEN seats to win back the Congress. To do this, we need party unity, and the sooner the better.
2. To unseat Sue Kelly, which is our ULTIMATE GOAL, we need our horses in a row sooner than later, so that everyone is working towards the same goals...the primary being mid September leaves our Democratic Party here in the 19th up in the air too late into the game....especially since Sue Kelly's seat right now is not even listed as one of the one's that is vulnerable or highly vulnerable...instead it is listed only as being potential.
3. We have six horses in the race right now, and that means to many people fighting for the same pie of donations. More importantly, it means some of our BIG GUN SUPER STARS in the party cannot come in and A) endorse our candidate, and B) hold some HIGH ROLLER fund raising events, which we are going to need to unseat Sue Kelly.
4. Sue Kelly is already buying and airing televisions commericals, trying to package herself as INDEPENDENT, running from her Republican roots. Having this extra month while we argue among ourselves PLAYS into her hand, and if we are to win the 19th, we have to cut her off at the pass RIGHT NOW.
This midterm election we as a nation have a chance to TAKE BACK THE HOUSE...but, that means we need to play SMART BALL, and smart ball means CLOSING RANKS here in the 19th and putting all of our efforts behind ONE HORSE, and I believe the best horse we have in our stable is John Hall.
Links to My Sites Sought « Result #3 on Aug 5, 2006, 3:46pm »
Hello Everyone:
As the creator/moderator of this message board, thought I would get this section going with my own LINK BEG as it were. Through linking together, we can drive our sites/blogs to the top of the search engines, and in that is the key to building a new political movement among internet political bloggers.
The first site I would love links to, is this message board. It is hoped that this board will become a rich and vibrant place of discussion, networking and dream creation. For this to happen, I need to get the word out, and generate traffic to our boards, and that means I need HELP. Feel free to link here with the following link: http://bloggerspp.proboards82.com
I have serveral blogs I maintain on political issues as well, and hope you will consider linking to them as well.
1. Bloggers for John Hall is a blog set up to help elect John Hall as New York's 19th District Congressman, replacing ineffective Republican Crony Sue Kelly.
I have other sites, but let's not be greedy here...OK, ONE MORE.
I am trying to raise funds for John Hall, and have set up a fund raising page on Act Blue, and would love you A) clicking the link and making a contribution, and B) linking to my fund raising page from your site.
OK, that's it for now, and I thank all of you who link to one, some or all of my sites. Further, if you have a blog, leave a link in this post, or start your own thread where you can share with the members information on your site, and the URL's you would like to have linked.
Employers Raising Red Herring? « Result #4 on Aug 5, 2006, 3:21pm »
For most of my life, I have been a small business owner. I know the ropes, and know it is NOT THAT HARD to ascertain how legal your employees are. Contrary to what many say, it seems to me that the real issue is, that business want CHEAP LABOR, and the cheapest labor out there happens to be illegal laborers in our work force, who are depressing the lower and middle class wage base by over $200 Billion a year.
It seems to me, that the National Chamber of Commerce, and various business concerns are trotting out a red herring in claiming ID verification is too onerous on the business owner. How can they have no problems with pre employment drug screening, yet claim foul at verifying someones RIGHT TO HAVE A JOB?
Hispanic business owners in Texas are afraid they'll find more stick than carrot in the immigration reform being considered in Washington, D.C., many of them said Friday in El Paso. About 100 business leaders crowded in a meeting room during the Texas Association of Mexican-American Chambers of Commerce convention to make their concerns known about proposed increased penalties for employers who hire undocumented immigrants.
Joe Cisneros, president and CEO of the Corpus Christi Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, said small-business owners in his area struggle to find enough workers to fill their needs.
"It's a challenge to find qualified workers. They (businesses) are expanding, landing hot new contracts and they have to take what they can find in terms of work force, especially in rural Texas," Cisneros said. "A lot of the time, we have become 'no ask, no tell.' We fill I-9 (employment eligibility verification forms), pay our taxes and live the American Dream."
Lamont On Verge of UPSET WIN? « Result #5 on Aug 5, 2006, 3:08pm »
Lieberman has been PUT ON NOTICE by the Democratic Party. They and their heavy hitters will SUPPORT the winner of the primary, regardless of who it is. Lieberman has threatened to run as and independent if he losses the primary, showing again his traitorous antics.
Meanwhile, Ned Lamont has stretched his lead over Lieberman to double digits with less than five days to go in this race...will we see and UPSET HERE? If Lamont wins, does it place the Iraq War as one of the TWO central issues in the upcoming Midterm elections, with the other being Immigration?
United State/France UN Resolution « Result #6 on Aug 5, 2006, 3:01pm »
The airwaves are filled with the news that the United States and France have reached agreement on the lanquage of a draft resolution aimed at stopping the fighting between Israel, and the terrorist organization Hezbollah. Problem is, the resolution does not seem very workable from the start, full of far more fluff than meat.
I see these as serious issues:
1. Hezbollah comes out on the short end of the stick, and is expected to cease their fighting, and lay down their arms.
2. No prisoner exchange, and Hezbollah is expected to return to Israel the WRONGFULLY taken soldiers.
3. The United Nations wrongfully is wanting to roll in the Chebaa Farms dispute, and this from my perspective forces Israel to give up the control of this disputed area under duress, and I would recommend they turn it down.
There are other SERIOUS flaws in this draft resolution, but are the big three from my own perspective. Any one else have some views on this?
John Hall for Congress « Result #7 on Aug 5, 2006, 1:07pm »
The race for the 19th Congressional District here in New York is shaping up to be a TOUGH race with the odds on favorite to take on Sue Kelly being John Hall, a man with heart and integrity. I am backing his run, and hope that you'll support him as well. You can donate to his campaign via this link:
http://actblue.com/page/bloggersforjohnhall
I have also created a blog where I post his news releases, and give my own commentary on the race as it unfolds.
http://bloggersforjohnhall.bravejournal.com/
Hope to see other John Hall supporters in this thread, and I'll be posting campaign appearances in this thread. Though I am hoping for supporters, those who are opposed to John Hall are welcome to open up debate of the issues here as well.
We welcome people from every walk of life, from every poltical persuasion. Our goal is to build the reality of a third political party by plugging in our stength through the wide world of the internet via the use of blogs, coupled with the power found in linking up as one. This board has been founded to work towards that dream.
